From the amount of calls that we are receiving asking about spring pups, I thought I would address potty training in winter.
I totally understand that standing outside when the weather is awful is not something anyone looks forward to. However, I find it does have some benefits.
I just got a poodle puppy last week and have started his potty training. He will be our new stud for our golden doodles once he gets old enough and he is one handsome guy.
When it is nasty outside, he wants to be out there just about as much as I do. That means he is quick to do his business and not distracted by mother nature.
He has found he loves the snow and will romp and play too.
While enjoying a pup in the spring and watching them romp is a whole bunch of fun, it also takes more time. Just as they have found the perfect spot (never have understood the criteria for the perfect spot) a butterfly goes fluttering by and they totally forgot what they were going to do.
I guess what I am trying to say is that this is actually not a bad time to bring a new pup home and better yet, we are having some great reductions in our regular prices on highly sought after breeds.
So, if you are thinking puppy . . . take a look at the breed links, maybe this is a good time for you!
